The Role
I really enjoyed my summer internship, there was so much variety and opportunities to get involved it just depended on how much you reached out to how much you could get involved with!
No matter what position in Grant Thornton a person was, they were always happy to answer your questions or have a conversation about their experiences.
My manager was always on hand to discuss any problems, but was also very good at reading the situation and letting me get on with it myself if I was capable.
There was always plenty to keep you busy!
I was responsible for client work that went to the client after the necessary approvals and minimal changes so I think that demonstrates this well.
As I am studying Accounting and Tax as a degree, my experiences have helped both in subject matter as well as attitude towards university work.
The Company
Very relaxed but professional, I always felt comfortable and accepted as a full member of staff.
Very organised, induction with all summer interns from across the UK, an evening event to relax and meet others as well as being able to get involved in department events as well.
The firm sends all summer interns to their training facility, Bradenham Manor near High Wycombe for 2 days to develop 'soft skills' and also to network with other interns. This was a great experience.

Very! I have been offered a graduate role and expect to take it up in September 2015.
The Culture
Yes although there was only one event organised late on by the firm, the rest was all self organised by summer interns.
One word - London!
There is always something to do in London.
Yes as long as you were willing to 'put yourself out there'. I got involved with a bi-weekly hockey team, as well as going to the annual GT football tournament.
