The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. The work and atmosphere provided me with a real insight in to the work required at the highest levels and has given me real motivation towards my career post university.
Very valued - I was given real responsibility, included in social activities and "banter" as well as helping them where I could.
Plenty of well placed support! The support was not over bearing and gave me the opportunity to work out the issues myself with little points in the right direction when needed.
Very busy but it meant the time flew by! I was challenged in my work which meant that although I was busy I thoroughly enjoyed it!
A lot of "real" responsibility which meant I felt like I was being given the opportunity to leave behind a real legacy.
The skills I developed during my time here will truly stay with me for life. They were valuable and transferable to a range of roles and positions which will help my employability in the future.
The Company
Quite quiet because there was a lot of empty desks on my floor because of floor moves etc but the team I am was in was happy, bubbly and very supportive and fun to work in.
Extremely well organised, answers were provided to questions before I had even thought of them!
A lot of investment from the offset. It meant that we all felt extremely valued and prepared to fill out the roles!
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Excellent, I have actually secured a graduate position following this placement with the view to progressing within the company in the future!
The Culture
Very good - i was in a regional office with 7 other interns yet still had a lot of social gatherings and events as a group of 8 and with the other interns in other locations.
Cost of living was good - Basingstoke offices are well located for travel and shopping although I lived at home during the placement so cost of living was not affected.
Not too bad - a few local clubs/pubs which were good.
Yes plenty - I went on a handful of community and social days which really helped with networking as well as providing a break from work when needed.
