The Role
Demanding but rewarding, felt like I was a real part of the team.
Team members were happy to discuss solutions with me, asked by other colleagues to help them complete work.
My supervisor provided great feedback and kept me focused. It was sometimes difficult to find work I could do that would be useful, however.
Plenty of long-term objectives to keep me busy, though naturally some days were quieter than others.
I could always ask my supervisor or team for feedback or to review my work, but generally I was allowed and encouraged to take tasks on myself and deliver results independently.
Learning about the software development lifecycle as well as an entirely new computing language should prove immensely useful.
The Company
My office was friendly, and everyone was approachable, from junior developers to Managing Directors. People were generally focused however.
I had very little formal training (the only training coming halfway through my internship). This was in an effort to sync the off-cycle and summer internships.
My supervisor provided a great deal of advice and assistance for which I am very grateful. I was lucky to have that help though, which might not have been available to everyone.

Working from home
Very appealing; there is a lot of scope for travel and career progression. I have secured further employment with the company.
The Culture
The summer interns usually had a strong social scene. The off-cycles interns on the other hand were a bit more focused on work, as they would have larger and more meaningful projects. There wasn't a huge amount of socialising after the summer interns left.
The cost wasn't cheap, but seemed pretty standard for London.
After work there were bars open for drinks and restaurants, but beyond that there wasn't anything. Canary Wharf is very quiet outside of working hours, even moreso at the weekends.
There were networking evenings and informal sports societies. I wouldn't say there was a huge choice though.
