The Role
I was given a lot of responsibility and this forced me to learn quickly.
They really appreciated a fresh take on the projects and welcomed any suggestions I had.
Any queries I had, I always had the opportunity to approach more than 1 person to have it answered.
As I worked on longer term projects, there were some days where I was extremely busy but relatively relaxed on certain days.
They entrusted me with a lot of responsibility but support was always there if I had any problems.
I learnt a lot in my 10 weeks and as I return for my final year of university, I can already see myself using the knowledge acquired in university work.
The Company
Some days were really slow and the office was really quiet but this meant that it was up to me to organise my schedule and ensure that I was never too busy on other days.
There were some initial IT issues like logins and I was moved from desk to desk as they did not have a specific desk for me.
Although there were scheduled training sessions, there were also a lot of training courses which you could do on your own.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
They operate on a meritocracy so as long as you perform well, there is no reason why a respected company like JP Morgan will deny you a place in the company.
The Culture
Socials were organised frequently
Although the office is in Canary Wharf and that is an expensive area, one always has the opportunity to live further away as long as it can easily connect to one of the many stops near Canary Wharf such as Heron Quays
Considering that it is in London, the nightlife is pretty alive
There are a number of business resource groups such as LGBT, Women in Business, which allow employees to be active outside of their team
