The Role
I really enjoyed the placement. I felt the work given to me to be interesting and challenging, and the experience thoroughly worthwhile
They seemed to take real interest in my background, my hopes for the internship and what my plans were after I had completed university. They also gave me work that gave me great responsibility, and seemed to put faith in me in doing the work successfully
Throughout, I had a colleague who showed me the ropes, then would guide me through what was expected for each task. I always felt comfortable asking any questions, and he was always more than happy to help
The first few days took a while to get going. Also, by the final week the project I had been working on had finished, so I had less to do. However, even at these times people asked if i wanted some extra work and always found me something to do. During the middle few weeks, i was always very busy, and constantly felt like i was being kept on my toes
For the majority of the placement, I was filling in for a person on the postgraduate scheme who was on leave at the time. So, in many ways, i was thrown in at the deep end and given substantial responsibility. This said, I always felt up to the task, as I had been guided through what was needed and knew that I could always ask for support if needed
As I am looking to do a masters related to property/real estate, I expect the training and skills learnt to be very valuable to me at that time
The Company
It was a good atmoshpere, everyone was very friendly and seemed to get along well
It was very well set up. There were talks to attend, oportunities to meet people who worked there on a permanent basis, and social events. Also, it seemed as though the department i was in had been clearly informed that i would be there and had prepared work for me in advance
Company Parties/Events
they are a leading real estate company, with the best postrgraduate scheme in this field. As this is a career i would like to pursue, I would personally be very interested in working for them on a longer basis
The Culture
Living in London is expensive!
It was a great area to be in - especially lots of bars and places to eat
