The Role
The internship was thoroughly enjoyable. It was a perfect mix of both work and social aspects.
Everyone at the company made me feel welcome and took time to ensure that all of the interns knew what they were doing. The PwC staff really went out of their way to make the internship.
Whenever I had any problems managers would take time out of their already busy schedules to show me how to complete my tasks and coached me effectively.
The workload was just the right amount. I felt as though I was busy and the days flew in but I also did not feel overwhelmed at any point.
I was pleasantly surprised by the level of work that we were given to complete. It felt as though we were given the work that we would get if we were to join in a graduate role.
I will take the many skills I developed in to my studies at university. It really helped me with organisational skills which will be invaluable when writing my dissertation this year.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was extremely positive. It felt as though people were friends as well as colleagues and there were multiple social events on offer.
There was never a moment where it felt as though PwC were unprepared they always had something for us to do that was engaging.
The firm put in a lot in terms of training. We got to attend an induction event in Birmingham that made sure that we had the basic skills for the job. Additional training was also provided in the form of e learns throughout.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
After leaving the internship programme I was offered a job with PwC.
The Culture
The social scene was excellent, I made good friends with all other interns and we still keep in touch after the scheme has finished.
The cost of living and socialising was relatively cheap.
The nightlife in Glasgow was excellent.
During the six weeks there was multiple opportunities to get involved in activities such as golf and football as well as nights out with other staff members.
