The Role
Never felt like I was treated differently for being an intern, my opinion was valued and taken into consideration
My supervisor checked in on me regularly, always made sure I was comfortable with what I was doing and was always available to answer my questions no matter how silly
Because most of my role consisted on a project I was developing individually so I pretty much controlled my work flow
Working really close with directors I had the opportunity to closely watch and learn about the ins and outs of an international business and understand the making of strategic decisions that impact the whole business. There is also a great online learning platform available to everyone where you can take courses on a large variety of courses not necessarily related to your internship or Verizon.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly, and all the interns were really close
There was a bit of confusion at the beginning but everything got sorted out and from there on it went smoothly
Sports and Social Club
Working from home
The Culture
There weren't a lot of us but we regularly had lunch together and occasionally went out for drinks/dinner/nights out
Not expensive at all
The nightlife was what would be expected in a student town
There is a social club at Verizon with loads of activities to get involved with, and there is also the opportunity to join clubs at the University of Reading
