The Role
I very much enjoyed my work placement with Lidl.
I always felt valued by my colleagues and superiors during my time with Lidl.
I was always given support and guidance from all members of management and supervisors.
I was always kept busy with new and interesting tasks.
I was given the responsibility for creating new content on the website or designing a new page, something I particularly enjoyed.
I was given a comprehensive insight into daily business of a HR manager und the whole recruitment process. I feel that my placement will assist me greatly going into my final year and beyond.
The Company
I was placed in the recruitment department during my placement and always got on very well with them all.
The placement was extremely well set-up with regular appraisals and a clear and structured timetable.
Spending time in the recruitment department was given significant training for each task so I feel the company invested a lot in me throughout my placement.

With such a greatly expanding business and such nice colleagues I could definitely see myself working for the organisation again.
The Culture
We met up with the other internship and placement students who were based in the same building on various occasions throughout the internship. Some of this meetings ware organised by head office like the introduction event on our first day. But we also met for lunch or did some sightseeing trips together at the weekends.
Cost of living was on a standard level and it obviously helped working for a discount retailer!
Working full time I could not see as much of the nightlife as I did at university but living in a different city was good to experience its nightlife!
There were many opportunities including work parties and sport events.
