The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at EY. The firm maintains a perfect balance between work and social life and provides their employees with various opportunities to excel and make the most of the best around them.
All my teams made sure I felt like a significant part of the audit. I was assigned ample work and taken to meetings whereby I was asked relevant questions. I felt the work I did had an important role to play as well. Everyone was friendly and gave me the deserved feedback
Mostly, my team members were patient with me and made instructions clear. Some times when workload high and time constraints present however, it was difficult to completely grasp what I was meant to do. This was not however a recurring problem.
I never had to work excessive hours. Usually completed my 8 hours a day.
It varied from client to client but generally my work was more basic. Nevertheless, my teams always made me feel that my work was important and valued.
Most importantly the internship has provided me with an insight to the working world. This gives me the confidence and reassurance that I am able to conduct myself in a formal environment. Participation in client meetings has helped my presentation skills and reviewing accounts has made me more thorough in my work at university.
The Company
Once again, varied from day to day. Generally however, there was a good balance between work and talk. Team members often used quizzes and brain teasers in breaks.
The internship as of perfect length and structure. The induction was helpful and the socials were great too. Other firms did not offer any of these especially the ball that EY had for all of us. It really made us feel all the more special.
In my experience, EY sent me to several locations in the UK. This was costly but I was able to pick up a wider range of skills across public and private audits. I deeply appreciated their investment in me to acquire these skills.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I am extremely excited to start my graduate programme at EY.
The Culture
As mentioned earlier, EY socials were the highlight of the internship. They allowed everyone to get to know each other and truly grasp the EY culture.
Being London it was expensive but living with my family travel was my only major cost.
Being in London, the nightlife was more than great! London Bridge and Bank are buzzing in the evenings as employees head out for drinks.
There is the EY network, alumni and other networking events.
