The Role
Had a fantastic time working for EY in the More London Place office.
By the end of the placement, colleagues had set aside work for me to do without me needing to ask around for assignments. I always received feedback on what I had done and advice on what improvements I could make in the future.
I could not have asked for a better combination of managers/buddies/counsellors whilst at the firm. Always on hand should I need something - Not much else to say!
I was as busy as I wanted to be I think. Due to the nature of the work, some days are more hectic than others. On the slower days, I found business development work to do so that I had something going on.
I was working on an active project and charging billable hours, so I would like to think that I was given a significant level of responsibility from day one.
On returning to university for my final year, I am more confident in both my mathematics and written skills.
The Company
When there was work to be done, it was a quiet office, but on slightly slower days, there was a steady flow of conversation around. Outside the office everybody was friendly and sociable.
I was offered the job within a week of finishing the internship.
The Culture
A few socials were organised within the first week and after that it was up to us as interns. We tended to meet up for a few drinks at least once a week.
London... Not cheap!
There was a Corporate Social Responsibility day during our Induction week at the firm.
