The Role
I was placed in a department that was not very reflective of a graduate job level and was very quiet during the time I was there but nonetheless took the opportunity to work for other departments which was very interesting
Lovely line manager and all the people in my department were extremely helpful
Line manager was helpful but was left to do most of my shadowing myself
In my actual department I had very little to do but then after volunteering to work for other departments my workload increased
Would have been happy with more responsibility
It was highly relevant to my degree and very good to get an insight into working for the Civil Service however would have like to have a project which better simulated actually working for the CS
The Company
It was not the most fun office to work in!
Great opportunities to meet others and attend different workshops/training however better department allocation is needed
Many opportunities for training particularly for the Fast Stream
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
I am definitely applying for a job in the CS but I'm not 100% set on it
The Culture
The interns all made an effort to do regular lunches/ drinks which was nice
Being in central London is never cheap!
It was central London but there was no nightlife involved in my internship
Many talks and also opportunities to join sports teams
