About You
It was a fantastic couple of days; really insightful but also very enjoyable! I met some great people who work at EY and also made some good friends who were on the programme. I particularly enjoyed the networking dinner!
I felt very welcome and valued during the Discover EY programme, I also went on an insight day at a different firm, which I didn't feel as welcome at, this made a huge difference in which programme I preferred and which company I chose to apply for an internship with.
We received plenty of guidance and support during Discover EY on how to act in an interview, how to network and other key skills you need to succeed. Compared to the other insight day that I attended the number of people on the programme was much smaller, this allowed us to have better guidance and support.
We were taught lots of useful skills on how to network and act in interviews which I will definitely use all through my career. One particular activity which was very insightful was presenting to a client; we had a meeting with the client where we asked him questions, then we had to prepare and give a presentation to the client advising him on his company. This is definitely a skill I expect to use and University and in the work place.
The Company
It was structured brilliantly, everything ran smoothly and the order in which we did the activities complimented each other well.
Overall Discover EY was fantastic, the people and the activities were great, it was even better then what I expected it to be!
I felt like EY did invest in my personal development as much as you can in two days.
Before the programme I didn't know if I wanted to go into Audit or Tax after University but from what I learnt during Discover EY and from talking to people who work in those areas at the networking dinner, I have been able to come to a decision!
We learnt all about EY's 2020 vision and experienced the culture as much as you can in two days.
It was very valuable, further to the programme I have applied for an internship at EY in their direct tax department which is the career path that I now know I wish to follow thanks to Discover EY.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for my train journey and EY also paid for my hotel, breakfast and dinner.
Yes, definitely, during the two days we were constantly around people who work at EY and we were also able to meet other employees at the networking dinner.
They were fantastic, the dinner had a great and friendly atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable socialising. The food was also delicious!
Yes we did, we found out about the sports teams that EY have and the staff socials like the Christmas party!
Yes, 100%!
