The Role
I enjoyed networking and learning about the public sector, but I didn't enjoy the work I was given.
Very little.
Although I was given support by my line manager, it took her a while to realise that I wasn't learning anything from the role I'd been given.
I was mostly bored.
It felt like the office was creating pointless jobs just to keep me busy. Most of the time I had nothing to do, despite asking colleagues if they needed help with their work
Not at all
The Company
Dull.
I was allocated to a role in HR in which I really couldn't develop or learn anything. I understand that the internship programme intended for us to experience new working environments, but it should have at the very least considered our preferences insead of randomly allocating us to certain roles.
I was provided with Fast Stream training
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym

International Travel
Financial Bonus

Although my internship was not very fulfilling, I wa able to discover roles within the government which are of genuine interest to me, hence wish to apply here, even after the terrible work experience I had.
The Culture
Yes, amongst the other interns.
If you're smart with your budget, London is a manageable place to live. Rent, on the other hand, was extortionate.
Didn't really explore it.
The interns regularly organised activities outside of work.
