The Role
My placement was fantastic as it offered so many chances for client interactions and I became very close to my team. I had great exposure to a variety of areas and therefore really felt like my input was appreciated.
Became very close to all the members of all my teams, even those more senior are very relatable and are very hands on and will always answer your questions.
I had a fantastic counsellor who was always on hand to offer help and support when I needed it. The counselling system they have is really good.
It is very dependent on the time of year but as a whole apart from the first week we joined I never had any free days - so no chance to get bored.
I was given the right about of responsibility to push me when I needed it but not too much to overwhelm me when I was getting to grips with the work.
The CA qualification will be invaluable and the exposure I got to the industry and hearing from those working in it will prove very useful.
The Company
At the office it's much quieter because often you are alone without our team, however with your teams often at the client the atmosphere is great, good balance of work and talking.
The placement was well organised as was my timetable throughout the year.
We complete 2 of the CA exams and also have a number of department wide and industrial placement student training.
Company Parties/Events
Finishing the CA qualification will be extremely useful.
The Culture
The placement students all got on really well both at college and during the placement.
Socialising was expensive in London as to be expected.
Nightlife was great, great restaurants and bars to visit with your team.
Emails were often sent around about events out side and there was a social committee in the department.
