The Role
Interesting and varied work, in welcoming, friendly teams.
I got on well with all team members I worked with. I was given plenty of responsibility from the first day in the office. I felt trusted by my colleagues but always felt comfortable enough to ask for help or further explanation.
Three counsellor meetings were planned for the duration of the internship for any general questions/issues - an introduction meeting, mid-term review and final review. In addition to this, a careers specific meeting was planned with a member of team student recruitment team. Training and work guidance was mainly on the job, and from all collegues I worked with. Everyone was very willing to help my learning. Managers and collegues were also very willing to provide constructive feedback at the end of projects.
There was always work to do, but my lunchbreaks and evenings were always very well respected - I was never asked to stay later than 6.
Difficulty of tasks ranged a lot, but responsibility was very much focused on the intern - all tasks were a real contribution to the team. Colleagues placed trust in me for every task, but were always there to help should I need help.
The business skills I developed were too specific to contribute to my degree, but will assist me hugely going forward into the accountancy and business world.
The Company
Friendly, welcoming and very down to earth.
The induction process was slightly dull, and too long. Once I got to the office it was very well set up - always work to do and always people there to help.
Almost all of the training was on-the-job learning, but people are always willing to take the time to make sure you understand things fully, and always happy to explain things again.

I got a graduate job with them, and prospects seem to be very strong within the firm - there were plenty of partners around who have spent the majority of their working life at EY, and still enjoying the work there.
The Culture
Very strong social scene within my department, something seems to be happening every week and smaller teams go out together regularly too.
London. Very expensive.
London - good nightlife but very expensive!
Range of 'societies' focused around sports and interests. Seem to be focussed more on permanent employees than interns though.
