The Role
I really enjoyed the EY scholarship programme, I feel it was highly beneficial and I was being given work other interns weren't as I had more experience.
I felt valued as I was each project for enough time to become an integral part of the team. I held responsibility and reported directly to senior members of the team.
The project teams I worked on in general were highly supportive and I was lucky enough to be working with people who gave me extra time to help me make the most of my placements.
The nature of consulting means that some days aren't as busy as others but in general I was never lacking with things to do. EY encourage you to network and meet as many people as you can which I did in the quieter moments.
I was able to host weekly calls with clients on my own and look after substantial pieces of work for the senior leadership of the projects.
I have learnt the importance of time management and working under pressure to a deadline. The importance of prioritising is also a skill I learnt while at EY.
The Company
The office was very friendly, everyone was willing to take time out and chat to me about their work.
The Scholarship Programme was well organised. There was always a moment at the beginning of each placement where we were unsure which projects we were on and how to get in contact with the project, but it is understandably difficult with confidential project work to let us know too far in advance.
There is no explicit personal training, but all employees are encouraged to develop themselves by getting involved in other activities besides their project work and we were also encouraged to do this.

The Culture
Yes, there were many socials between the scholars and the interns, and the scholars all live together in the first placement which means you can get to know each other really well. Also on projects there are great opportunities to meet your team.
We were given accommodation for most of our time as scholars, however this has been taken away, so finding a flat in London for the summer is pretty expensive! But this is the same with all internships so it doesn't matter too much.
London nightlife is really great, there is so much to do!
Yes, you could join sports clubs or go out for social occasions.
