The Role
I really enjoyed the internship from start to finish and was given a variety of different tasks to complete which enabled me to learn a great dea over a short period of time.
I had a number of one to one meeting with my people manager who was always very positive about the work that I was producing. I was given the opportunity and support to explore other departments such as tax. I was also given regular feedback from colleagues I had worked with on different jobs and everybody made me feel that my contribution was vluable to them.
I was allocated a manager who was always willing to help and answer questions from me. He gave me regular feedback and advice which will be useful for when I go back as a graduate. I also found that the partners in the office were genuinely interested in how I was geting on and regularly came over to say hello which I thought was very nice.
I worked on a variety of clients and some were very busy and otheres were not. The last two weeks of the placement were quite client so instead of going out to the clients I spent time in the office. However I let everybody know that I was free and happy to help with anything I was given plenty of work to do. PwC also provided the interns with a project to work on throughout the placement when we were quiet which resulted in a presentation to the partners on the last day. I was never left with nothing to do.
I was always given full responsibility for the tasks that I was asked to complete. However the nature of auditing is that your work is checked and checked again to ensure that the financial statements are correct. However I was always responsible for completeing all of my allocated tasks within a reasonable time and requesting necessary information from the client.
During the six weeks we had multiple training days whereby we had the opportunity to deveop the skills that we had learned and also taught how to apply them back at university. I have learned a great deal about the financial side of companies and how they work which will be useful in my company law courses. I have also learnt great organisational and presentation skills which will be useful.
The Company
Everybody was very friendly and there were constantly social events being held which we were invited to. There was also a very relaxed atmosphere as PwC Aberdeen do dress down Fridays.
The nternship programme was exceptionally well organised. In the first week there was a welcome event down in London which was very well balanced between learning essential skills to get us through the placement and socialising with other interns. Travel and accommodation was booked for me and everything ran very smoothly. The recruiters James and Helen were constantly available to answer any queries.
PwC provided all of the interns with a huge amount of training over the 6 weeks.

I would be delighted to go back to PwC as a graduate after my experiences as an intern.
The Culture
All the Scottish interns had several opportunities to meet up for trianing sessions during the internship. Everybody got on very well and will keep in touch. PwC always provided us with lunch and on the last day drinks, which gave us all an opportunity to get to know each other.
Aberdeen can be quite expensive for drinks at the weekend but during the week you can get some good deals.
Aberdeen has a good night life there are loads of pubs but only a couple of clubs.
Aberdeen office participates in a sports decathalon but unfortunately there were no events during my placement.
