The Role
Enjoyable. Good opportunity to work at the forefront of the organisation in the dealership network. Opportunity to see and be involved in all aspects relating to aftersales, from service customer advisor's, to workshop and mechanical procedures, workshop control, parts, and service management.
Very friendly colleagues throughout the dealership. Friendly, colloquial atmosphere out on the dealership floor as well as in the workshop. Found the experience in the workshop to be invaluable in gaining the technical knowledge as well as enjoying a bit of banter with the technicians!
Both my line and general manager were particularly helpful with regards to relocation and settling in. Always there to offer a helping hand with regards to tasks, and to give advice on new terminology that you may not have previously come across. Doors are always open
Generally busy from day to day. Sometimes feel as if you can offer a little more, but without being fully trained it can be difficult to do this. It takes time to grow into the roles and gain experience. As you do, you gradually get busier, and the working day can go a lot quicker!
Responsible for monitoring profitability with regards to service, tracking various labour rates and discounts applied to certain jobs. Set a project to increase the number of MOTs we get at the dealership (in particular Class 7 MOTs). Have several objectives to aim to achieve, so you can be issued with a fair amount of responsibility.
Already have attained a degree, this is a graduate position. However, the skills that i have developed will certainly assist with future roles, whether that be in management, a customer service based roll or a position based at head office.
The Company
Friendly and supportive atmosphere, know when to be serious and when to have a laugh. Always good fun and often dealing with happy customers. Great fun/experience in the workshop with technicians.
Initial online application, personality assessment and telephone interview well organised. Very smooth and well set-out assessment day, assessing all capabilities for the job roles, from role play meetings to a business related task/test. Was however miscommunication with what i believed to be the offered job role and what was actually offered. Originally thought i was based at head office (Coventry, where i live). Found out 1 month prior to starting that i would have to relocate. Caused quite a rush in finding a place and getting settled, due to a bit of poor communication between HR and myself
The academy is a great facility for learning and personal development. Push for training and courses etc and the opportunities are there to be taken.

Company places high hopes for each graduate, and gives you the opportunity to move up the ladder should you show the right potential. Prospects are good within a wide and expansive organisation
The Culture
Initial induction was a good opportunity to meet up with fellow graduates, exchange numbers etc. Due to relocation, opportunity for social nights with other graduates are scarce
Around average for the UK. Plenty of places around to grab some food or a beer for a pretty reasonable price
Manchester supposedly good for a night out. Similar to Birmingham, plenty of places to pick from, and very lively
Can be long days, but always opportunity to do things after work if you fancy it. PSA Peugeot Citroen organise plenty of opportunities and activities for good causing e.g. sky dive for children in need next year!
