The Role
Worked with great people with a good working atmosphere. Given real responsibility on client work to be performed, which meant you got a taste for the real pressures of working in a job like this.
Always appreciated by more senior staff, who realised any work you could take on meant there would be less to share out among team other members.
Management styles of individuals varried, but all managers were approachable and were available to give guidance wherever it was required.
Working hours were reasonably long given the nature of the work to be carried out, however you were always there with everyone else and as such it did not seem as bad as you were all working together.
Given ownership of whole audit areas for which to complete the work, some of which included complex work to be carried out. Made the placement work feel real and fulfilling.
On going back to University the skills learnt on placement can now be linked directly through to the University work to be completed. This means the understanding of teh theory behind such processes is much easier than if no practical knowledge was already obtained.
The Company
Great social atmosphere; people were all friendly and approachable and there were a number of social activities available to relax with work colleagues.
Good planning in advance and good follow up before and after the placement.
A reasonable amount of time seems to be invested by the company in the continual development of all staff in the business, which means your knowledge and skill base is continually growing. Individuals at higher levels are always willing to share their own time, knowledge and experience with lower level staff members.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I could definitely see myself working for the firm and hopefully after graduation I will gain an offer with the firm.
The Culture
Social events within the office as a whole, including all placement students was really good.
I live in the area so costs were pretty low and social events were all subsidised if you were part of the sports and social club.
Nighlife is relatively good and with it being in the vacinity of central London, events often took place there, giving more variety.
Lots of social activities for all staff members. There were also chances to volunteer as part of the offices charity efforts and local event organisation or assistance.
