About You
The insight at RPC was extremely well organised, informative and enjoyable. I was able to talk with employees at the firm from a range of different departments who were at a numerous different stages in their law career, from trainees through to partners. Individual partners took the time to give in depth presentations about the departments they worked in and the work they were currently doing, making the sessions interactive and entertaining. I was able to shadow a trainee in their day to day work and get a real insight into what life at the firm would be like. The insight was packed with useful information and made me feel like the firm was already making a significant investment in my legal career. The insight ultimately led to my decision to apply for a Training Contract at RPC.
Employees from all departments and levels of seniority made a genuine effort to make me feel welcome and make sure I had the best experience possible at RPC. I felt like the firm was making a real investment in trying to impress and give a realistic impression of what life at the firm would be like.
Questions were welcome and encouraged at every stage of the insight. I never felt that time was being wasted or that I didn't understand the relevance of any activity. The information we received was tailored directly to us as students and we were given advice that would be valuable for our legal careers generally as well as specific advice relating to RPC.
Gaining first hand experience of the culture and working environment at RPC gave me an insight into the way lawyers and law firms work. This experience proved extremely valuable in confirming my ambition to work at a firm like RPC and later applying for a Training Contract at the firm.
The Company
The insight ran like clockwork and was packed full of useful activities and events. I cannot fault the structure of the insight. We were never left wondering what to do and never had too much information thrown at us. There was a perfect balance between giving us enough information and not being overbearing. There was also a good balance between events relating to the work the firm does and opportunities to get to know people in a more informal setting.
The atmosphere during the work shadowing and group exercises was professional and engaging. During networking sessions, lunch and drinks events we were able to really get to know people from RPC and other attendees on the insight. It felt as if I belonged at the firm.
I was able to sit with a trainee and gain an insight into the work they were doing on a day to day basis. I was also able to question associates and partners about the work they do. I felt as if the firm was making a significant investment in me as a potential future trainee.

One of the best aspects of the insight was the opportunity to experience RPC's culture first hand. RPC brands itself as having a very strong and unique culture. It is only by spending time at the firm that you can fully appreciate this culture and the way it impacts on the working environment at the firm.
The content of the day left me in doubt that RPC was the firm for me. I decided to apply for a Training Contract at the firm. It was my first choice.
Everything Else
I was generously reimbursed for travel and accommodation expenses for the duration of the insight.
I was given numerous opportunities to meet and network with employees of the firm both in a professional setting and more relaxed, informal events.
The networking and social events were excellent opportunities to get to know people at the firm better.
I was given lots of information about RPC's unique house system and the activities associated with this, including sports day, bake-offs and talent competitions!
I would absolutely recommend this insight to a friend and have done on numerous occasions.
