The Role
The nature of the profession is such that there will always be ups and downs given the working hours - but I felt my enjoyment was derived through the fact that there was a good, friendly and helpful environment within which these fluctuations could take place.
Very much so. Understanding that I was an intern but at the same time valued me enough to have me work on very important projects. Credit was given when it was due which I find very important
Line manager was very supportive and gave us great advice throughout the internship. It was very good to see the MDs greeting us on the first day and taking some of their time out to get to know us. It was also a great experience to get the chance to work with them which shows the high value placed on us.
Fluctuating - most days work would only actually commence in the afternoon which I felt wasn't a productive use of time and it simply increased time spent late at night. At the same time, I wouldn't say I was constantly twiddling my thumbs and most of the time I was very much busy and I enjoyed being so.
A good amount. Placed on deal teams, analyst would put a lot of responsbility on me but at the same time would support me through the process.
Gained more efficiency in work, developed great time management skills and developed good communication and professionalism skills that have already made a difference to my degree studies and set a good foundation for years to come.
The Company
Hard working and ambitious but at the same time supportive and jovial which helped me through the long hours. No one expected you to stay to show face when you had finished work and there was no feeling of hierarchy.
Yes well organised throughout the whole process, knew exactly where I had to be when
A week of training which was a very good way of meeting fellow interns, learning about skills needed on the job both technical and general such as presentation skills. Tutorials run throughout the internship which were very useful. I felt the actual day of technical training was squeezed, it would have been nice to have more time from AMT.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Car
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing, environment is indicative of a company that is doing well and a great place to start one's career.
The Culture
Yes interns from all divisions encouraged to socialise - facilitated through various social events put on during the internship by the organisers
Commuted from home which was relatively expensive and London is generally an expensive place,
Can't beat London nightlife. Just too expensive.
Not really
