About You
I felt the Insight Day was very well organised. We had the opportunity to learn about the experiences of 2 of the graduate trainees, both from different areas in the organisation. They also gave us some advice about how they approached the recruitment process. The commercial awareness session was also very useful, as this is the most daunting part of the process for many. We were given a useful method of approaching commercial awareness questions. In the afternoon, we were given detailed information about the recruitment process. We were given an insight into what the recruiter is looking for, and how we can stand out.
We were looked after very well during the Insight day.
We received a great deal of guidance and support during the Insight day. I felt it will be useful for the application process at many companies, not only BDO.
The Insight Day was very well structured, although I would have liked to have spoken to more of the graduate trainees. Only one came around to our table, so we were only able to ask one of them questions. It was a bit inconvenient to stand up and approach the other trainees as no one else was doing that, and they were busy talking to people on other tables. I wanted to ask questions to the most recent of the trainees, as he would have had the most recent experience of the recruitment process. But overall, I gathered some useful information regarding the recruitment process.
The Company
The general atmosphere was very cordial and pleasant. Everyone was very approachable.
Not applicable for an Insight Day.
The graduate trainees explained their day-to-day activities to a fairly good extent, so this gave us an idea what it would be like to work at the firm full-time.
I felt I didn't get enough a feel of the company culture. Maybe because we didn't have that much time to freely interact with the people of the firm, and also, there weren't that many people to interact with.
Quite helpful.
Everything Else
I was not reimbursed expenses.
There was some time to network, but not enough employees available to meet.
Not applicable to an Insight Day.
Yes, the graduate trainees explained what kind of activities they are involved with.
Yes, I would. It was very informative, especially for someone who is just starting their job search.
