The Role
Really good company and people. Managers are always willing to help and talking to partners about an issue isn't out of place.
I was given a lot of responsibility and I was accountable for all of it. My performance was assessed every three weeks so there's no time to slack off!
I had meetings with my people manager throughout my internship and I was allowed to contact him at any point ( off-work as well ) regarding any issues that arose.
Some days I was extremely busy, getting to grips with client work. Some days were quiet, as I had to wait to get information from the client. This could span a week or two in the worst cases
I was given a lot of responsibility and was made to feel like a valued member of the team. There was also space for personal development regarding audit knowledge.
I learned so much about finance and accounting during my internship. Mostly due to the practical on-site experience, as well as Grant Thornton's jargon handbook. The need to be organised and analytical while working with clients was a massive boost when I resumed my studies.
