    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really good company and people. Managers are always willing to help and talking to partners about an issue isn't out of place.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility and I was accountable for all of it. My performance was assessed every three weeks so there's no time to slack off!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had meetings with my people manager throughout my internship and I was allowed to contact him at any point ( off-work as well ) regarding any issues that arose.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days I was extremely busy, getting to grips with client work. Some days were quiet, as I had to wait to get information from the client. This could span a week or two in the worst cases

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility and was made to feel like a valued member of the team. There was also space for personal development regarding audit knowledge.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned so much about finance and accounting during my internship. Mostly due to the practical on-site experience, as well as Grant Thornton's jargon handbook. The need to be organised and analytical while working with clients was a massive boost when I resumed my studies.

    5/5
