The Role
Really enjoyed the placement - the jobs and tasks i was able to get involved in allowed me responsibility and option to offer opinion that was taken seriously. The graduate and IT community was quite large so had opportunities to socialise outside work .
Was always taken seriously - never branded as an intern - felt a valued member of the team.
You have a task manager and a personal development manager both of which provide you with continued support whenever ou need it. Your reviews with your task manager are dependant on the business but mine were generally weekly. You then have a 3, 6, 9 and 12 month review with your PDM to assess how the placement is going where you are able to highlight an issues eyc
Work varied - sometimes i was required to work lon hours and the occaional weekend - but this was averaged out by quiter periods over the year! In these though i would recommend getting involved in other projects with differnet teams to help build a network.
I was given fairly high levels of responsibility throughout the year
You develop key skills regarding teamwork, adaptability, communication etc that i was able to use in my degree and when applying to graduate jobs
The Company
The atmosphere was genrally fun - they opperate a flexi desk system so you are able to sit with other interns or with your team depending on which you prefer. They also have various lunches and bbqs throughout the year at each location
very organised - right through from the application process through to the job and exiting process
Had the option of going on a variety of training days with the team and other member of the grad and IT community
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
At the end of the placement you are offered the option to apply to the grad scheme where your performace over the year is taken into consideration and if successful you are invited to a 2nd round assessment centre.
The Culture
the social scene was good - every wednesday we went for drinks after work, arranged loads of group nights out and there was a ski trip
London is expensive - but you can still make it work!!
AMAZING!
You can organise as many as you want - just depends on the rest of the people on placement!!
