The Role
I am currently on a six months internship and have been here for 4 months so far. I have really enjoyed the internship for many different reasons. First of all, most people has been really friendly and keen to spend time to explain and teach me things. Secondly, the learning curve has been really steep as I have been working across many different projects and teams. Many people I have been working with have a huge experience they can share with me and I have not only been learning a lot but at the same time also benefitted from the opportunity to work on interesting projects both client facing and behind the scene (project management, strategic decisions, research, event planning etc.)
One of the things that have been great so far about this internship is that I get real responsibility and work on tasks where it actually makes a difference. My colleagues have been great at providing me with these opportunities as well as giving me constructive feedback on what was good and what could be improved. I would however have liked to get a bit more feedback with regards to areas of improvement as that would help me to know how I could deliver even better.
Most of the time I have been given quite a lot support and guidance from the people I work for and from my people manager. A few times people have been busy and have therefore not been able to provide me with as much support as I would have liked, but overall the support and guidance have been great.
It varied over time, but often pretty busy. We work on a lot of different projects in addition to the work we are given at the team we work for. This means that there is a lot to do after finishing the day-to-day tasks. On the other hand, many of the projects outside of the rotations have been both very interesting and I have learnt a lot from them, so I would not have been without them. Perhaps it could be organised different in the future so that the work on the rotation was 4 days a week whereas the 5th day could be used on other projects.
It has varied, but overall a lot of responsibility both with regards to client facing tasks and the processes behind.
I have already completed my BSc and MSc, but I think the skills will be very useful for me in my future career. I have more commercial knowledge and a great insight into many different teams. I have learnt things about how to interact with clients, presentation skills, researching and how to approach different task being flexible and having tight deadlines.
The Company
Very friendly and encouraging.
Overall, most have been really good. A few things could possibly be improved in the future such as ensuring more time for projects outside the rotation and better more frank feedback to ensure people get a chance to ensure they can improve the delivery in the direction of what is expected.
The company has really invested a lot in training and development. We have attended different workshops, coaching sessions, meetings and presentations that all have increased our personal development way above what would have been the case if only having the team rotations. Also at the teams they do a lot to ensure you learn a lot - more feedback throughout the rotation would make it possible to develop even more.
The environment of friendly people with a lot of experience, fast tempo and a great learning really excites me. This is a place where I am sure I would be able to develop a lot on both a personal and professional plan. I would really enjoy to stay and get more deeply integrated into a team. There are many interesting projects that appeals quite a lot to me.
The Culture
Absolutely. We did many social things after work as well.
Yes - to exemplify I have been doing yoga sessions together with some of my colleagues for a while now.
