The Role
The placement was very enjoyable. Staff were welcoming, friendly and easy to get along with. However, times when there was little/no work to do were rather boring and too frequent.
I felt valued but also felt in the background. This is understandable, however, as the staff have jobs to do and are not baby sitters.
Support and guidance was always there when asked for, however, it had to be asked for.
This varied significantly, however, on the whole I would have liked to have been busier.
I felt like I could have been given more responsibility on the whole, however, I was sufficiently challenged at times.
The skills I have developed during the placement will help me throughout my career as a civil engineer and in particular, will help me to start my next placement with more knowledge an understanding, enabling me to take on the extra responsibilty of which I desire.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office was great. Staff were friendly to each other but not so much ascto disrupt the work.
Things seemed fairly unprepared when I arrived. It was very 'make do' and 'fit him in somewhere'.
Certain individuals made particular efforts to educate me and deepen my understanding of the job in there own time, which I appreciate a lot.

Future prospects for employment seem great. The company appears to care about it's staff. I think I would be more than happy to have a career with this company.
The Culture
Things were relatively social. I participated in a cricket match for the staff for example.
N/A, as I lived in Sheffield and worked near Leeds. However, the cost of living in these areas is relatively cheap compared to much of the UK.
N/A
On such a small timescale there were not many opportunities.
