About You
It was an amazing experience, with the opportunity to meet many employees of the firm (from analysts to partners). The timetable was extremely well prepared and there were many networking opportunities.
I felt extremely valued. We were treated as one more employee of the firm.
We all received full time support from the Human Capital Management team, as well as guidance from our team leaders (two associates) and our buddy.
I learnt both soft and hard skills during the insight. We received a one-day training on valuation and accounting, and we had to develop our soft skills all along the two weeks.
The Company
Completely structured. Timetables were given to us the first day, and there was no time lost. The only thing is that sometimes events had to change last minute due to the availability of bankers participating in the event.
Great. Everyone is extremely nice at Goldman Sachs.
We received a training and continuous feedback.
Due to compliance reasons, the IBD Spring Insight does not have work shadowing. However, through the case studies and speaking with analysts, we could see how it would be to work at the firm.
Totally. We had two week where we could speak with anyone we wanted of the firm in order to fully understand its culture.
During the day, if you like what you do and hear, and you are looking forward to the following day, that means that your future career path is in investment banking.
Everything Else
I was paid (around 400 pounds/week) and reimbursed expenses (travel and hotel) during my stay in London.
Many networking opportunities, from junior to senior bankers.
Great for networking, maybe a little overcrowded sometimes.
We had a whole networking event on what associations were available at the firm.
Definitely. Three main reasons: 1. It is the broadest insight possible (the only two-week Spring Insight). 2. It is division specific 3. It is at the best firm
