The Role
Great experience with Caterpillar on my placement, well worth the year out of university.
Being given real responsibility made you feel valued in the team along with a moral within the team.
Always willing to answer questions and mentor within the team was a good thing to have as you had support from someone with experience in the products.
There was always things to be getting on with and if not someone would find some for you!
Was given real responsibilities for real products that are used over the globe.
Placement at Caterpillar put a practical use to the skills I developed at university and taught me many more for use in my studies.
The Company
Good atmosphere with everyone willing to help.
Worked well making it for an enjoyable year.
Courses are available for development and also a possible return to the company in the future.
Company Parties/Events
From the experience of the placement year, future employment within the company is very appealing.
The Culture
In all there was a good social scene. Only two students were at the specific facility but the rest of the engineering department more than made up for it!
Reasonable providing right accommodation and location was ideal. Recommend house share to keep bills down.
Good area plenty of pubs and bars which is never a bad thing!
Loads of opportunities outside work to kick back and have fun.
