The Role
Very much so, it was a great decision to do a placement, and a great choice to go to GE
Definitely felt like they liked having me around and that I was actually making an impact.
Really easy to talk to my manager or anyone senior to me really, they're all knowledgeable and happy to chat with you.
Some days less busy than others, but when they were busy, the day would just fly by.
Quite a lot, got given my own projects to work on and had an impact on other projects too.
Made it easier for me to organise myself during my final year, more hard working and more adaptable to change/problems.
The Company
Chatty
Bit slow at first but after a couple of days things picked up.
They set aside training courses for me to attend.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
Interns have the best chance at getting a graduate job BEFORE YOU'VE EVEN LEFT THE PLACEMENT.
The Culture
Everyone liked to socialise frequently - even your managers.
Slightly more expensive than average - but the GE salary is one of the highest offered by any companies on placements.
Decent - one or two great clubs but other than that bars and pubs was the way to go.
Plenty of volunteering or sport to get involved with, including coding classes etc
