    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Not quite half way through the internship, in my fifth month, so far the experience has been a positive one. Plenty of opportunities and work to get on with.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Received positive feedback from colleagues so far.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Very busy team so managers are not always available for guidance at all times which provides you with the opportunity to use your initiative and work independently.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Each day is very varied, as with most jobs there were some occasions of down time. There is always something that can be done though.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Again not quite half half through the internship but so far been given more responsibilities as the internship has progress.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills that I have learnt here will definitely assist me further. My writing skills have improved, I've had experience of integrating in to an established team, my confidence has developed an much more.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Situated in an office with various departments, the atmosphere is generally relaxed and everyone has been nice and welcoming. Everyone is willing to help you just need to ask. Questions and curiosity is definitely embraced and encouraged in GE

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There were some teething issues to start with, issues with security badges and access to computers/folders. The first week of my internship I couldn't really do much without access. Also I only had a one day handover from the previous intern instead of the suggested week like a lot of other interns but I was fortunate that I had a trainee in my team to support.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have been encouraged to develop my skills and discussions regarding training courses have taken place.
