The Role
MY internship at KPMG was very enjoyable and the experience was invaluable.
My colleagues treat me as any other employee and I felt that they appreciated the work that I prepared for them.
My manager provided me with in-depth feedback after each piece of work I submitted and I was then able to improve each time.
From day to day I was given enough work to stretch me however I was not overloaded with work.
From my internship I gained a lot of confidence and personal skills from interacting with the client.
The Company
I was in a regional office so there were a lot less staff than there would be in other offices. Because of this I felt like everyone knew one another and the atmosphere was very friendly and sociable.
I was given a timetable at the start of my internship that I stuck to for the 8 weeks. I was also assigned a different mentor for each week for each different client. This timetable remained the same throughout my internship and it was very well organised.
The firm spent a long time at the beginning of my internship teaching me common procedures and how to interact with clients. I also received a lot of invaluable feedback which was indepth and detailed.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
I have received a job offer from KPMG conditional on a 2:1 and I am extremely happy that I have the opportunity to stay with the firm.
The Culture
On the social side of things, myself and my colleagues went out for meals, went bowling and played netball together. This really helped me get to know my colleagues as there was always something going on that you could get involved with.
I was working in Newcastle where the night life is amazing. I went on a few nights out with my colleagues and really enjoyed them.
I was given the opportunity to play for KPMG's girls netball team which was really fun and a chance to see my colleagues out of work.
