    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the challenge and I felt like i was given a good amount of responsibility for both my projects and my time.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It took a few months, but once I had settled in i found that most people acknowledged my contribution to the team and the business. People started coming to me for assistance in certain areas.

  • I was supported whenever i needed it, but I was given enough free reign and responsibility of my own projects

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I ran my own projects so I made work for myself and managed my own time. Additional work was available if required.

  • More than enough, I did not feel like an intern.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Having a wider knowledge of the industry than purely the academics has made future design and improvement projects more customer focused.

  • Professional but friendly. Very busy.

  • I as provided several training courses including the six sigma green belt. The employer were highly focused on my future employability and developing me as a future grad employee

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • If you made the effort. There is a large cohort of interns (27 currently)

  • I lived in Southampton, large student population. Busy and cheap.

  • Both Southampton and Portsmouth have good nightlife.
