The Role
I really enjoyed working here, there are many other interns so always someone I could speak to that was in the same boat as me and I was really valued in my department.
I always felt like a good part of the team, going to all team meetings.
My manager was always there when I needed help, even for projects she wasn't directly linked with.
They eased me in gently but time goes really fast as I always had some sort of project I was working on.
I had a lot of responsibility and was trusted and relied on to get tasks done by myself but help was there when needed.
I think that not only will these skills help me when looking for future employment but they will also help me when finishing off my degree as they have improved my motivation.
The Company
Open office layout, I sat on a pod with 4 interns. The office was lively and people were always baking and bringing in cakes. Everyone that walks past says good morning.
My role was changing when I began but now it is much more organized, the training I received when I began was very organized and I have regular meetings with my department.
A lot of the training I had was done in house. I had training on Photoshop and other programmes that I would be using.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
They have some great grad schemes under various different subjects, having seen how different parts of the business work I would be interested in staying at GE in the future.
The Culture
Yes, there is an intern society which plays sport such as football and netball and goes on trips such as Thorpe park.
The social scene is ok, but it is very close to London and Watford. The cost of living is slightly more expensive as it is down south.
Nightlife in this area isn't great but there are many places nearby such as Watford, Reading, London.
Yes many, lots of volunteering and charity events to take part in.
