The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement so far, I have learnt so much more than I could have anticipated from broad areas of the business. I am learning something new every day which is fab.
The whole division are like a family, everyone is incredibly helpful and you are made to feel valued by every member of the team. Our floor always put on various socials outside of work which I found really good at the start of my placement to get to know everyone.
My managers and I have weekly catch up's where I can discuss all areas of my work and the parts I am struggling with. They always ask if I need anything clarified and don't make me feel stupid when I don't understand something.
Very. Which can seem daunting at first, but at the end of the day you're here to learn and to work hard so you've got to throw yourself at it to gain the most from the experience. Id rather be busy than bored.
I feel I have been given just the right amount of responsibility. A number of my projects are quite challenging but I feel a sense of accomplishment and that I have contributed towards the business once they are complete.
I could relate what I learnt at university to what I have been working on at L'Oreal, so I hope when I go back to university it will be the other way round and it will help me in my studies. One of the most important things I've learnt is how to manage and prioritize my time.
The Company
The atmosphere always changes depending on what is going on that month. It is usually very upbeat but depending on the time of day it can be quite quiet if people are out in meetings or focusing on their work.
Very well set it, it was just like joining a job. You are set ongoing projects to be working on and then given adhoc jobs to complete every day.
The company really wants you to succeed, not only in your learning but in the company. So many people stay in the company and progress through to management because there is so much help from HR to get you to where you want to be and reach your own personal goals.

I feel there are a number of paths for future employment with the company, the graduate programme is a great next step after placement and being an intern puts you in good sted to getting it.
The Culture
Theres great social events! At the end of every month there is a big party put on that every employee can attend, its so fun and a great way to meet people from different areas of the business.
London is incredibly expensive, particularly to live.
There's lots going on in the area and there's always somewhere new to go.
There''s an intern committee with a sports sec and social sec who organise lots of events outside of work for everyone to participate in. I've joined the netball team so have met lots of new people.
