The Role
It was a really fantastic experience and a very enjoyable taste of working life.
I was given real work to do and my opinions and ideas were sought.
My manager was fantastic; she helped me to arrange 1-to-1s with people in various parts of the business.
I was busy 9-5 every day and only had to stay late (as in past 6) once.
As I said, I was given real work to do, which was then used by other people in the business.
I now have mega- Excel skills which will be extremely helpful in my dissertation.
The Company
It was really friendly and everyone was nice to me. It took a while to find a desk but once I did that was great.
I was really impressed by the organisation
There were loads of opportunities for personal development, mainly through the Charity Challenge (about which I was initially sceptical). I felt throughout like the firm was investing in me, and that was a really nice feeling.
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
I have an offer to join the graduate scheme and plan to do so.
The Culture
Many of the interns from the whole building would eat lunch together which was a really lovely way to get to know people. I'm not really into the partying thing so it was great to have that.
Medium - I'm from London and at uni in the South of England so it seemed cheap but I know compared to other parts of Scotland or the North of England it's expensive.
I didn't really take part in the nightlife, but there appeared to be lots of it - which meant that there were always police around, which made me feel safe.
Beyond the Charity Challenge there wasn't much through the company, but as the city was so vibrant I found a group for one of my hobbies that I was able to join.
