The Role
I carried out the work of a first year associate, so what I did was truly valuable to both PwC and the client.
All colleagues were extremely friendly and welcoming- most had come in as greaduates so were completely empathetic to my situation and wanted to make my experience as enjoyable and sociable as possible.
I was given enough support and guidance, using my initiative. If any issues or queries arose, management were extremely easy to contact, and were very helpful.
I was generally quite busy- it was my responsibility to carry out my work and complete in time for the deadlines, so for some time I was very busy, other less so.
I was surprised quite how much responsibility I was given during the internship, but it was fantastic because I felt I was genuinely contributing, and that the company and my colleagues trusted me to represent them.
The training I received will be very helpful when I begin my graduate job there and the associated ACA training. The other skills I developed, for example public speaking and presenting, interviewing and documentation, as well as networking skills will help me in many aspects of my degree, and later life.
The Company
There was a calm, friendly atmosphere in the office, with some fun, however people were mostly working hard- but everyone was always approachable and willing to help. There were plenty of opportunities to socialise after work.
The training week was very well organised, with every moment of every day accounted for. For the following weeks, I wa very well organised, and was particularly lucky to have a great buddy.
The first week of training was a massive investment, since it was a week's residential training course. For the remainder of the internship, I was invested in less explicitly, but learnt a great deal.

Company Parties/Events
I was offered a graduate job on the completion of my degree.
The Culture
We organised may events as interns, as well as being invited to social events with colleagues from the audit team/office.
I was in London so it was extremely expensive.
The nightlife was amazing, but extremely expensive.
There were many events going on, such as trips to the cricket 20:20, and staff balls, to which I was invited. In addition, we had audit completion meals with the teams.
