The Role
I enjoyed it greatly. The focus on getting me to a place where I would be offered with a Graduate position was the driving force for my whole team and support structure. I felt like I was in a place to succeed before I'd even begun.
Incredibly - as I said, they were completely focused on my learning development and my Graduate application. I also had the chance to do the same work as the team and thus felt extremely valued not only as an Intern but as an employee.
I had weekly one to ones with my manager and was made to feel incredibly supported.
It varied from day to day - some days I was left to my own devices to work on projects or research my role. Others I would be out with the team conducting audits and I'd barely get chance to stop. I loved the variety.
I did a presentation for the whole team which actually was very important to them. I also worked on papers alongside the team - the responsibility in that was huge.
Invaluably - I couldn't recommend the experience enough. I have learned so much that I feel is transferrable - from people skills to maths skills to business skills. It all counts.
The Company
Extremely good - everyone would say hello and start a conversation and we'd regularly go for a drink after work. I felt like I could ask anyone for help with anything and they all would go out of their way to help.
Mine was extremely well organised because I had the most brilliant boss. I do know however that this wasn't the case in all roles, but I did a variety of different things and travelled and felt like I was on a very driven path.
Very much so - a lot of the training I had to do by myself but there was always someone to talk to or ask questions of and they were always willing to listen and help.
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Incredibly appealing, I can't wait to start my placement with them.
The Culture
Yes - we were regularly going out and the Intern Charity Challenge brought everyone together for a common goal.
High! I was living in London and found everything expensive.
I didn't tend to go out in the evening but for a drink after work there were many great places to go.
During the Intern Charity Challenge we actually organised a load of activities.
