The Role
Its was fun, day to day tasks were challenging in a good way, I got to learn new things everyday.
My colleagues were nice people who were always there to lend a hand and offer guidance. When completing important tasks I was given the proper recognition.
I was supported but not baby sitted, which is important because I am supposed to be testing my abilities and trying out new things.
It depends on the tasks at hand, some days could be extremely empty and some could be really busy from start to finish.
Varying levels, from basic work to managing small scale projects on my own. So a mix.
As an engineering student I got to learn more about how business and engineering are important to one another.
The Company
The atmosphere was nice, always fun and light. Sometimes there was a lot of work so everyone was busy and on some days such as Friday the office was empty as most employees work from home on a Friday.
It could have been run better as to give interns a bit more insight and experience. some things where not followed such as the reviews and referrals process, other things such as time sheets and holidays were also a pain, for example my line manager was on holiday for two weeks meaning that i wasn't paid on time for two weeks wasn't very nice.
I was given a couple of tutorials by a colleague with regards to a new management system, i was also given the chance to set up an account with them. Another good thing was the use of the groups online self learning resources.
Quite appealing but it depends on every individual. i personally liked it and i would definitely go back to work there in the future as i found my self as a good fit.
The Culture
The charity challenge was good in helping build intern relations. There where also a lot of opportunities to go out together from the facebook page dedicated to the lloyds banking group interns of this year.
food was expensive during lunch, lives at home so no costs.
London is the city for nightlife. Theres always something to do everyday of the week.
Not really much activities outside work as everyone was from a different age group and worked different days and hours.
