The Role
I really enjoyed my time with LBG. I was given a lot of responsibility and shown round a lot of the company while undertaking various tasks. I was also left to my own devices and able to flourish creatively on a project which took 3 weeks.
Although most of the work I completed was at a challenging level there were other aspects which felt trivial and meant nothing to the business.
My line manager did not have a lot of influence during my internship but my senior managers were extremely helpful and always willing to give up their time
There were many days in which I had a very small amount of work
Although some work was trivial the overall project I did carried a lot of work and many people were asking me questions about it. This was the best part of the internship for me.
This has given me a taste of working in the financial sector and also taught me new skills like coding in VBA and SAS. Would definitely recommend internship to anyone.
The Company
People always willing to help.
Some parts we had to find our own work but this allowed freedom in the work I wanted to complete.
A fair bit. Training courses and lots of additional hours from colleagues.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Above 25 days holiday
They offered me a graduate job.
The Culture
In Halifax it was more social than London.
Halifax was cheap. London expensive.
Poor
Yes. Football and bowling
