The Role
overall the experience was enjoyable
everyone was welcoming
my line manager lived abroad so usually took one or two days off a week. Also went on holiday for two weeks in my second week and away again at the end so didn't have much contact with him.
Could have completed the work i was given in a lot shorter time each day. The work they wanted me to do was already pretty planned so even when asking for more didn't really get any.
not much, was only there for 10 weeks and the last two were spent making briefing notes, so by the time they trusted me, i didn't have long to take on responsibility.
got given bloomberg training and 'lunch and learn' sessions
The Company
everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone was keen to give advice or speak to me if i asked to.
well organised by lloyds- gave us an opening and closing event to get to know other interns as well as 'lunch and learn' sessions. My team was not as organised, other teams set up meeting and projects for interns but mine did not.
this was dependent on which area of the bank you went into. Some organised talks and meetings and spent a lot of time on interns, whilst others were less structured.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
not so appealing, i got offered a job but did not take it, as i found the work fairly boring.
The Culture
still keep in contact with many of the interns. Lloyds put all interns together in halls which was really good.
expensive in london, but Lloyds subsidise this by paying for accommodation for interns.
working in central London, had a large variety of bars, pubs and clubs
apart from a charity challenge, did not get offered anything outside of work.
