The Role
The work can be challenging but you have amazing support from the GS employees.
They make an effort to make you feel like you are apart of the team.
Great mentor and buddy system as well as immense support from the team that you are in. You get the impression that everyone wants you to make the most out of your experience.
I rarely felt like I had little to do. Outside of the work that your team gives you, the Intermship programme itself has a number of events that'll keep you occupied.
I felt like I was making a real contribution to the team. Definitely more responsibility than I expected or heard other interns got in other institutions.
You come away having learnt a lot about the industry and your division, as well as developing various other skills in communication, presentation and problem solving.
The Company
Consistently busy hum and friendly atmosphere.
Throughout the internship there were a number of events to keep things varied and also learn more about the firm itself.
Before the internship we had a week of technical training and access to online training. Throughout the Intermship we had a few more skills sessions and interactive tasks to cement what we'd learnt.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
You have the opportunity to progress depending on the work that you deliver as opposed to designated times for progression.
The Culture
There was an intern event every weekend.
Cost of living very high (....it's London). But there are also plenty of things to do in London so socialising isn't a problem.
London nightlife.
Intern social events and charity day.
