The Role
It was an intense but great experience. During the internship you have the chance to have a broad overview of the work of the firm and to interact with the people that work there, also senior people.
There was great respect and collaboration among interns.
The firm invests a lot on the interns. We met our mentors and supervisors almost everyday. They supported us a lot and give suggestions and feedback on our work and behavior.
In general a lot. I had to work on projects, attend training sessions and networking with the people of the firm. Everyday I learned a lot.
Not too much since essentially we worked on projects. Anyway, in my case, I worked on a project that was used from a team for its work.
The skills I developed definitely helped me for the last year of Master in Economics, both in term of personal skills (time management, organization and presentation skills) and more technical skills on economic issues (in particular monetary economics).
The Company
The atmosphere was very frenetic and fast, I guess a normal atmosphere for a trading floor.
The internship was very well organized.
The firm invested a lot in the inters. The first weeks we had only training and lessons and we had also training during all the internship.
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
If you are good, there is the possibility to receive a full-time offer,
The Culture
Yes totally. Interns used to go out together and spend time together outside of work.
London is a very expensive city, but the salary is more than enough to live in London
The firm is based in a very central area, not far from the most touristic-central area and close to Farrington and St. Paul, very nice areas of London in my opinion.
In activities linked to work, as sport activities (there is a gym in the building) and firm networking events yes. Most of the time was spent on work, but still there is the change to out in the weekend or some evenings.
