    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was an intense but great experience. During the internship you have the chance to have a broad overview of the work of the firm and to interact with the people that work there, also senior people.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There was great respect and collaboration among interns.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The firm invests a lot on the interns. We met our mentors and supervisors almost everyday. They supported us a lot and give suggestions and feedback on our work and behavior.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In general a lot. I had to work on projects, attend training sessions and networking with the people of the firm. Everyday I learned a lot.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Not too much since essentially we worked on projects. Anyway, in my case, I worked on a project that was used from a team for its work.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed definitely helped me for the last year of Master in Economics, both in term of personal skills (time management, organization and presentation skills) and more technical skills on economic issues (in particular monetary economics).

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was very frenetic and fast, I guess a normal atmosphere for a trading floor.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organized.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a lot in the inters. The first weeks we had only training and lessons and we had also training during all the internship.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Travel loan

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If you are good, there is the possibility to receive a full-time offer,

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes totally. Interns used to go out together and spend time together outside of work.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is a very expensive city, but the salary is more than enough to live in London

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The firm is based in a very central area, not far from the most touristic-central area and close to Farrington and St. Paul, very nice areas of London in my opinion.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • In activities linked to work, as sport activities (there is a gym in the building) and firm networking events yes. Most of the time was spent on work, but still there is the change to out in the weekend or some evenings.

    5/5
