The Role
A lot of interesting things to do most days, but some were slow.
Was always made to feel welcome, and a valued part of the team.
Always willing to help where needed.
Mostly given time to work at my own pace, but there were times when results were needed very quickly.
I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the lab I was in, and was able to order things where needed.
A lot of useful new programming and experimental skills gained.
The Company
Quite a good office, but was occasionally quiet due to conferences.
HR took a while to get round to organising a proper contract, but was at a very busy time of graduate recruitment.
They were willing to send me on the neccessary courses for me to do my job well, and others that held interest to me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Able to secure a graduate placement with them next year (hopefully!)
The Culture
Not a lot of interaction with other students through my choice, but was good where possible.
Oxford prcing made things quite expensive, but cheaper alternatives were availible.
The town where I lived was dead after 9pm, but nearby Oxford had plenty to go to.
LOts of local clubs availible, if you like the ones on offer.
