About You
My internship provided an invaluable experience, and I enjoyed every moment! The 3 weeks cemented in my mind that I would like to build my career with JLL and I particularly enjoyed working in the Planning and Development Consultancy teams.
The team always ensured that I was involved, and I believe my opinions on developments were well received. I truly felt part of the team and enjoyed contributing to my best ability.
Each and every member of the team was happy to answer my questions. I received excellent advice on my career path and guidance on tasks which I had no previous experience in.
It was great to have the opportunity to speak to members of the team who had taken different routes into the company. The advice I received cemented my aim to enter the graduate scheme as as non- cognate and study for my Real Estate masters part- time; a challenge I believe I will enjoy.
The Company
There was always plenty of work to do and Pam ensured everything was organised for us. A particular highlight was to be sent to London for an presentation skills training day with the other interns.
The office is a great environment to work in and I believe this contributed to my positive experience. The teams are friendly and sociable, and I enjoyed the opportunity to mix outside of the office.
I was fortunate enough to attend a presentation skills training day in London, which contributed to my transferable skills. This gave an opportunity to meet the other interns and highlighted that JLL invest in their employees development.
My internship consisted of the work I would expect as a graduate, and I enjoyed getting involved in the current projects. Within just a few weeks, I also gained an insight into the strong APC training and support whilst studying available.
The strong team culture in the office stood out to me, and I found colleagues supported each other in their personal development. Everyone is happy to help each other, making it a great environment to progress your career. Everyone I met was pro-active and enjoyed their jobs, highlighting JLL's strong working ethos.
I thoroughly enjoyed every task involved in the Planning & Development teams, and this has re-enforced to me that Development would be my favorable team. However, I also gained an insight into how valuable the rotations in the graduate scheme are and would enjoy gaining experience in various teams. Having experienced the working culture at other firms, I believe JLL should be anyone's first choice in building their career.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for my travel expenses to London.
I was fortunate enough to attend a Next Generation event, which provided an excellent opportunity to meet teams from all over the office. I contributed to various teams, and I believe this allowed me to meet a range of people.
I enjoyed the networking opportunities and found the office was very sociable. There was a special emphasis on the younger members of the office mixing together. I was surprised by JLL's encouragement to mix with other companies, however found this to be excellent for making connections.
I was made aware of the other sports teams and charity events that the teams in the office were involved in.
Yes, I would not hesitate in recommending the internship to a friend, I was aware before my internship that I wanted to work for JLL, and am certain that the enjoyable internship will put the firm first for anyone.
