The Role
I found my time at Grant Thornton very rewarding. The work was both challenging and stimulating and I was given autonomy over my work but with reassurance that I could seek help when needed.
I felt very much a part of the team and everyone made an effort to welcome me and support me.
My manager was always there when I needed her, even when her schedule was very hectic.
I was always being challenged with new tasks and people were always ready to pass me work.
I was empowered with work I didn't expect to be empowered with which just shows that faith that Grant Thornton has in their interns and graduates.
The accounting skills I developed are really useful now I am back at uni. Legislation training that I had is also useful at uni. There are many other softer skills that were enhanced during my placement such as my emotional intelligence and collaboration skills.
The Company
The office had a good atmosphere that was very energetic.
Very organised. My flights to London were already booked when I started. We had cohort calls with senior managers every week and HR representatives were always following up on how we were doing.
They invested a lot. We had a two day trip to a Grant Thornton training centre outside London as well as people in the office investing their time and resources in us.

Very. As well as a competitive salary, as a graduate they will pay for your accountancy exams.
The Culture
In Bradenham, all the interns gelled really well. In the office, all the interns worked well together and we came up with some very creative ideas.
Glasgow's cost of living is very reasonable.
Fantastic. Glasgow has a great variety of bars.
I attended a Grant Thornton golf day as well as football on a Thursday night.
