The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my year, and it was far more beneficial than first thought. The work I did was challenging yet enjoyable.
From day 1, I felt apart of the team and not a placement student, this made settling in much easier.
My manager was always available if I required help, and if he wasn't someone else would be.
Each week was different, depending what projects were happening resulted in the workload.
I was given plenty off responsibility, but being able to manage various projects through the year.
It has assisted me as I have learnt huge amounts about project management, this has be useful as I am currently completing a module in it this year.
The Company
It was quite relaxed and everyone was friendly, but very hard working.
The organisation of the placement was good, although the initial induction day wasn't brilliant.
The firm were willing to invest in training, there was a lot of courses available. I didn't attend too many courses, due to having enough work on.

I would enjoy working for Allianz in the future, and this helps by Allianz providing you the chance to go straight to assessment centre if you have completed a placement.
The Culture
Yes, quite often the placement students would do something together.
I was living at home, so for me it was beneficial. It allowed me to save a fair bit of my wage.
The night life is ok, there are a few good bars around.
If you wanted to get involved, there was a website which had all the activities available.
