The Role
I had a fantastic time at PwC over the summer and I dont feel that I could have had a better insight in to what auditors do any where else. The coaching was excellent and the other interns were all social and everyone got on great.
No one treated me like an intern the whole time, I felt like a part of the team all the time and everyone was very great full for my contributions and no one took advantage of me being new to the team. There was a great atmosphere in the teams and everyone worked hard but at the same time were very social
The coaching was great and the engagement leaders and managers always explained everything in great detail and were always happy to put you before them so that you could do your work, often meaning they would have to work later but no one ever begrudged giving me help
I was never at a loose end and was happy to work beyond the normal hours for the benefit of the team but was always asked if I wanted to leave early if I had plans or wanted to shift hours, I was never sat in the office with nothing do or at a client site
I was given more responsibility than I ever expected, everyone jokes were you making the tea bu this was never the case. I was often liaising with senior managers from clients and having access to very confidential information.
I have an audit unit this year at university so my time at PwC will come in great help for that, it has also advanced my knowledge of financial accounting which is integral to my degree and see how much of what I have learned is relevant.
The Company
The office was very social with nights out being organised and the office entering in to a local football tournament and I took part in both.
PwC ran the internship exceptionally well, with our training the first week all being organised at Latimer house in Chesham. The remainder of the internship and being booked on to clients was exceptionally well organised in the office with everyone knowing who their clients were and being booked on early so there was no confusion
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a permanent place for the coming september on the condition of achieiving at 2:1 on my degree
The Culture
Going to university in southampton meant that I knew what to anticipate in terms of cost on a night out and as we were paid for the internship there was no excuse for not going out
