The Role
Good range of work, and a comprehensive insight into the work that Accenture does.
Got on really well with them, and they were happy to delegate many tasks to me.
Regular lunch meetings with my line manager; we sat on adjacent desks and often talked about career guidance and how the project was going.
Usually pretty busy, but mornings were sometimes pretty quiet, and then it all got busier towards the end of the day.
A fair amount - got to work on actual research and was given quite a lot of independence in my deadlines and the scope of my work.
Presenting skills, writing reports.
The Company
At the client, so quite an odd mix of Accenture people, client employees, and third-party technology experts. We all got on pretty well, and there was good team bonding through pub quizzes and beer tasting and the like.
HR people at Accenture were generally good, though there was quite a lot of confusion about expenses and what location of client qualified you to stay out at the client.
A lot of detailed training in first week, and good team activities every couple of weeks.
Working from home
Huge firm to work for, but I'd like to specialise in a particular area.
The Culture
Really excellent - though we only saw each other at the end of the week, we got on extremely well and organised socials outside of the scheme too.
A lot of free drinks at our socials, and my expenses while on the project were completely covered by the firm.
My project was out in Reading, and so there was little socialising outside of the office bar. The project members staying at the same hotel didn't seem that interested in socialising, beyond weekly football games.
We did a charity day in a community garden.
