The Role
I really enjoyed it. I felt like I had an opportunity to learn a lot and use my skills and knowledge in a practical context.
I was given proper tasks requiring using advanced probability techniques I had learned at uni. I feel like I contributed to the projects the team were working on and I was valued by my colleagues.
My buddy and my manager were always there to answer any questions I had. On the other hand they didn't spoon-feed me but let me work out the best way of solving certain problems myself, which I really enjoyed.
I always had something to do and never had to waist my time sitting and doing nothing. On the other hand, on most days I didn't spend more than 8.5 hours in the office.
I was actually given quite a lot of responsibility. I was given two bigger projects, which I worked on from the very beginning to the very end and which I was responsible for.
After completing this internship I have a better idea of what I should pay more attention to in my degree studies...
The Company
The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone was really helpful. There was no need to record every minute spent on a certain task, which made the job a bit less stressful.
It was very well organised. We were given an opportunity to hear about other schemes offered by the company. There were also two feedback sessions organised by my manager and buddy which let me learn what I had done well and what I could improve on.
At the beggining of the progamme I was given some extensive formal training. From that point on, most of my development was through working on projects.

Company Parties/Events
The prospects are quite appealing. Everyone who performs well has a chance to start the graduate scheme in the following year but only provided the team they have done their intership with needs a new person.
The Culture
Yes, we met almost every week for a pint or two after work and we went out together a couple of times.
It was London so quite expensive....
London has some really good Nightlife...
Yes, we had a day out in a cookery school and a social, playing mini golf. There were also a couple trips to pubs...
