The Role
i really enjoyed my placement! I met a lof of new people and learnt a lot about FMCG businesses
I really felt that associates in mars really value anyone else in the organisation, including the interns. they listened to my suggestions and implemented the strategy i proposed, where possible
I had a line manager for the whole duration of my project that really guided me with my projects and helped me anytime i needed, as well as assisted my development
I was very busy until the end of the internship where i had finished my project. then i filled my time by going around and meeting various people within the organisation which proved really helpful!
As my project was on its own a project that had a lot of responsibility assigned to it, i felt like from day 1 they gave me a lot of responsibility! this is one of the greatest things in mars after all!
during my internship i had to identify in what ways information can be shared within the logistics team and the supply chain. Knowledge sharing is something that i have used since with my classmates as it is really useful to exchange notes etc
The Company
It is a really friendly office and everyone in there is really happy to help you / sit down and have a chat with you - regardless of how high up they are within the organisation!!
The internship was very well organised - just one thing: I would have liked if my job role was specified quite some time before my internship -everyone mentioned this in their feedback - but apart from that everything else was great!
Mars is by far the best grad company you can go to develop - they really focus on some of your development areas and give you projects to face them ! and everyone is really happy to have a very honest chat with you. in addition, if you ask for feedback you get it, and in a very honest form which really helps!

The mars management development programme is one of the best grad schemes out there - both on a developmental as well as on funcitonal skills level. therefore, employment prospects are VERY appealing!
The Culture
The grad community was very well organised and we went loads of times, it was a great bunch of people!
Petrol to go in and out of work was quite expensive but as i was staying at a friend's house in the summer, living costs were not too high!
NIghtlife was quite good, we went out a lot of times and had a great time always - it was also because of the intern group, we were all quite a lively bunch!
We attended a BBQ as well as a family day event were we could bring our friends from outside work- that was loads of fun!
